Alexa Park Las Vegas: A Neil Diamond Tribute

Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” Vegas residency show CONTINUES Neil Diamond tribute vs original concert Las Vegas ON in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.

Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.

In addition to being one of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.

In early 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being affected by Parkinson’s.

However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences worldwide through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.

Ask Siri “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.

Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.

In May 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.

In 1995, Garrett was selected by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.

What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year residency.

By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to create his own tribute production.

He began a steady touring schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”

He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.

Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.

Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
